If my life was a movie, my character would be played by Sarah Polley, I think. Which is why I am now jealous of Sue and Lucy: Sarah Polley’s new film (that she’s directed) is premiering at the Princess on Thursday, and Sarah Polley will be in attendance! Jealous!
So yesterday I went swimming at Little Bay at lunch time for triathlon training with some of the guys at school, as per usual. I ended up getting stung by a blue bottle again, only a lot worse this time. It was really hard to pull off, and I had to scrape the tentacles off my left hand with a fingernail. After swimming back to shore I stayed pretty still, but the pain started creeping up my arm, eventually up to my shoulder, then my chest. I was getting pretty worried. The guys drove me to the clinic at school. You could see this 2″ wide red rash-like thing all up my arm where the pain had creeped up. The nurses injected me with an antihistamine and soaked my hand in hot water. I stayed there for a couple of hours until the redness had gone away, along with the pain in my arm. My hand was still swollen and hurt like hell, but I was ready to go home and Anita gave me a lift back to my flat. The injection made me sleepy, so I slept for a few hours, got up, ate dinner, then went back to bed.

Our landlord is coming to inspect our apartment this weekend. Aparently it’s becoming too much like “a hotel”, to use his words. Just because Gilad was staying on our floor, and now Johnson’s staying on our floor, and Karen was often over, and earlier this week Paul stayed over when he got locked out of his apartment for a day… seriously. Shouldn’t landlords have more important things to be doing besides spying on their tenants? Ziv and I had to fix our stove ourselves, and yet the landlord has time to count the people exiting and entering our door. Maybe they have hidden cameras! Creepy.
Life at The Hotel is good. I feel like there aren’t too many interesting things going on at the moment, hence the lack of updates. I am learning quantum physics now though. And how to make PERL cells. Um, yeah. That’s it. We had a funny discussion about the Schrodinger equation and Richard Feynman last night. I’m a geek, what can I say.
I was getting rather weird spam posts, so hopefully re-naming the site will cut down on that. I don’t understand where they come from.
Today’s schedule: do some yoga, eat some burritos, book some fun stuff to do at the Great Barrier Reef with Chau, Jason and Brook, and chill at the beach. Maybe read some novels. Or theses. Whichever seems like more fun at the time.
